About the author

Dr. Oliver Barima’s background spans research, teaching and direct professional practice in various senior capacities in the AEC industry. He has taught at both the postgraduate and undergraduate levels in subjects such as building science, project and practice management, BIM management, building systems and construction law. He also attained significant professional experience over the years through direct practice by providing consulting services on works including several internationally funded infrastructure projects and also a multibillion-dollar energy project. His current research interests cover the use of emerging Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in construction value delivery entailing recent areas such as virtual project management; blockchain technology; quantum computing; digital twins and other emerging tools. His articles have appeared in leading journals in the AEC industry and also in edited books, encyclopedia and conference proceedings.
